Zimbabwe’s Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) – the supervisory authority of insurance and private occupational pension funds, will host the Technical Meetings, Annual General Meeting, and the OECD/IOPS Global Forum on Private Pensions, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Africa from 17 to 19 October 2023. Formed in July 2004, the IOPS was instigated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International Network of Pension Regulators and Supervisors (INPRS). The major goal of the IOPS is to improve the quality and effectiveness of the supervision of private pension systems throughout the world, thereby enhancing their development and operational efficiency, and allowing for the provision of a secure source of retirement income in as many jurisdiction as possible. The organisation cooperates closely with other international organisations involved in pension supervision policy development and dialogue, including the OECD, the World Bank, ISSA, IAIS and IMF.
